Dental veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry treatment that can transform the appearance of your teeth. They are thin porcelain covers that are placed over the front of your natural teeth to mimic their look and shape. Veneers can be used for a variety of purposes, including to protect a damaged or vulnerable tooth, cover a cracked or chipped tooth, or improve the appearance of a stained or discolored tooth. The process for getting porcelain dental veneers typically involves several steps. During your first visit, our team will examine your teeth and determine if veneers are a good option for you. If so, we will prepare your teeth by numbing the tooth and gums before removing a thin portion of the tooth to make way for the veneer. The surface of your tooth may also be roughened to achieve a stronger hold when the resin is added, a process known as “etching”.
Next, we will take a dental impression of your prepared teeth, which will be sent to a dental lab to create custom-made veneers. In the meantime, you may receive a temporary veneer to wear while your permanent veneer is being made. Once your permanent veneer is ready, you will return to our office for the second visit. Your temporary veneer will be removed and the permanent veneer will be secured using composite resin. Our skilled dentists will make any necessary final adjustments, such as filing down the veneer to be a closer match to your surrounding teeth.

Dr. Liang, Diplomate, American Board of Oral Implantology, attended the University of British Columbia and received his Bachelor's degree in Microbiology in 1981 and his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1983. At graduation, he was awarded the Canadian Oral and Maxillo-Facial Prize for highest standing in the area of Oral Surgery.
Dr. Tsang attended UBC where he studied mathematics before heading to Philadelphia to study at Temple University School of Dentistry. Dr. Tsang currently practices general dentistry in Abbotsford. He joins Dr. Liang and his team as an associate and implant dentist. As a life-long learner, he participates in hundreds of hours of continuing education each year.
Patricia graduated from UBC dental school in 1983 at the top of her class (Gold Medal winner). She has worked at the UBC dental faculty, has been on various committees with the College of Dental Surgeons, is currently the Treasurer of the CDSBC Board and has been working with the National Dental Examining Board of Canada since 1997.
After having completed numerous hours of continuing education in Prosthodontic Dentistry, he made a focus on a full mouth rehabilitation in his work. As a lifelong learner, he constantly reads periodicals and takes various dental courses to expand his knowledge and to provide high standard dental services for the community.
